At Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems, we're all about redefinition. We are redefining our industry by providing the greatest customer experience imaginable. However, we are also Redefining our Community, by giving back and supporting those in our community in need.
With this altruistic goal in mind, team members from Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems participated in the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's. The event, which was hosted by the Alzheimer's Association, took place in Denver's City Park on September 17. The Walk in Denver is one of 600 events held nationwide, with the effort of raising awareness and money for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Over 10,000 people participated in Denver's Walk.
Alzheimer's Disease is a progressive brain disorder that slowly deteriorates memory and thinking skills. It's the only cause of death in the top ten in America that cannot be prevented, reversed, or slowed. One in three seniors will die with Alzheimer's Disease or some other form of dimensia.
In an effort spearheaded by Director of Field Operations Adres Gooding, the Complete Basement Systems team walked in solidarity in the event. "Our goal was to raise at least $2000," said Andres. "But we shattered that. We raised $3000."
While a cure for Alzheimer's Disease is still a far-off reality, Adres remains optimistic. "It was truly very special to see our team members and their families at the walk. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, and it was great to see us stand in the fight to find a cure some day."
