A radon test conducted in Bryan K.’s Parker, CO home revealed that radon levels were at 9.9 pCi/L. He decided to call in a local radon expert to help reduce the levels in his home. Bryan called Complete Basement Systems of CO and within one day, his worries were over!
Radon specialist Johnathon Beach suggested installing a radon mitigation system to keep levels below 4 pCi/L, which is the level recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency as a safe amount. Bryan was happy to find out that Complete Basement Systems of CO provides a 10-year warranty with their radon abatement system. Within one day, foreman Homero Galindo installed the system and answered all of Bryan’s questions along the way. Radon can be a scary thing, but the right contractor and the right system can effectively reduce radon levels and provide a homeowner with peace of mind.
Radon is the leading cause of cancer among non-smokers. The only way to know if there is high levels of radon in the home is to conduct a test. Bryan is happy that he had his own tested and mitigated his basement. He no longer has to worry about radon affecting his home or his health!
Shawna S. noticed that the concrete slab underneath the support pillar that supports the front porch of her Parker, CO house had sunk 4 inches. The pillar also attaches to the overhanging eave on the front of the home. Worried about whether the concrete would continue to sink, or worse, if the porch might collapse, Shawna decided to contact a professional to inspect her structural problems and provide a solution.
Shawna contacted Complete Basement Systems of CO and met with structural specialist David Soares who suggested that helical piers be installed to stabilize the structure. Concrete settlement, or sinking is typically caused a change in soil conditions. By installing helical piers, the weight of the deck on the front of Shawna’s home will be transferred through the piers into competent soil below. This will help prevent further settlement of the slab and ensure that the deck will be safe and secure. Shawna was very pleased with the timeliness and professionalism of foreman Alejandro Limones and his crew. She can now sit and walk on her porch without having to worry!
We are all familiar with the musty smell of a basement or crawl space. A moisture problem can be the culprit behind this musty smell, as well as contribute to things like mold growth and structural issues. Debbie O. knew she had to take care of the moisture problem in the crawl space of her Parker, CO home before she could sell it. No potential buyer would want to buy a home with a damp, smelly crawl space. Based on recommendations from friends and reviews from satisfied customers, Debbie decided to contact Complete Basement Systems of CO to have her crawl space inspected and repaired.
Crawl space specialist Heath Emery suggested that the crawl space be lined with a moisture barrier to help keep it dry. The CleanSpace vapor barrier system is exactly what Debbie’s crawl space needed! CleanSpace is a long-lasting, durable liner, made with polyethylene with polyester-cord reinforcement. The vapor barrier is also treated with an antimicrobial finish to protect against mold and mildew. Within one day, foreman Jorge Cervantes and his crew were able to install the crawl space liner and give Debbie a dry, clean crawl space that gives buyers another reason to buy the home!
Anthony and Vicki M. noticed a few problems with their concrete leading up to their front door and garage. One of the bigger slabs leading up to their front door had sunk about four inches into the sandy dirt around the property. They also noticed the caulking between their garage floor and their driveway was deteriorating, leaving an unsightly and potentially dangerous gap between the slabs. Anthony found Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems online and quickly called to remedy his sinking porch problems. One of Rod Martin’s Complete Basement Systems’ Design Specialists, Dustin, came out and assessed the problem spots around the home, and saw that the PolyLEVEL system would be perfect for the sinking porch slab.
Shortly after Dustin's consultation, PolyLEVEL Foreman Jacob went to Anthony and Vicki's home, and injected enough PolyLEVEL to raise the heavy slab, and to prevent the slab from sinking down anymore. As for the deteriorating caulking, Jacob went on to remove the old caulking, and replace it with NexusPro Joint Sealant. The NexusPro Sealant is silicone based, meaning that it is water-resistant, and resistant to deterioration.
The job was an absolute success; Anthony and Vicki's sinking porch slab was stabilized and lifted. The joint between their driveway and garage floor has been replaced, looking as good as new!
