While we don’t think of the crawl space as a part of our home; the condition of this below-grade space can greatly impact the health and energy efficiency of our home. When Viki H. found some standing water in the crawl space below her Greeley, CO home, she knew it needed to be taken care of in order to prevent mold and more water intrusion. Viki looked up local contractors in her area and finally decided to get an estimate from Complete Basement Systems of CO based on their experience and reviews from customers with similar issues.
Waterproofing specialist Heath Emery arrived at Viki’s home to inspect her crawl space and suggested the best solutions to her problem and answered any questions that she might have prior to beginning the repair process. Heath suggested installing a CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent moisture and groundwater from entering the crawl space. A SmartSump sump pump was also installed. The SmartSump is specifically designed for the crawl space environment and works with the CleanSpace moisture barrier system to ensure an airtight seal. A SmartPipe drainage pipe from Basement Systems was installed and works well in a crawl space with a dirt floor. Foreman Alejandro Limones and his crew also installed a new vent cover in the crawl space to help keep out excess moisture.
Viki was very happy with the results of the waterproofing repairs. Not only did she now have a dry, clean crawl space, but she no longer has to worry about how the condition of the space is affecting the health of her home. Now Viki can breathe easy knowing her damp crawl space issues are a thing of the past!
Before preparing to sell her home, Nancy U. wanted to make sure that the Greeley home’s crawl space was well protected from any moisture, something that is a problem in my homes throughout this area of Colorado. After seeing an advertisement on TV and recognizing the name, Nancy decided to give Complete Basement Systems of CO a call.
Nancy met with crawl space specialist Perry Mills who immediately suggested installing a vapor barrier to help keep moisture out of the crawl space. Perry explained that the CleanSpace vapor barrier system is made of a durable polyethylene material with polyester-cord reinforcement; and is treated with an antimicrobial finish to protect against mold and mildew growth. The crawl space liner will also allow for easy entry without causing damage to the liner; it will create more usable storage; and improve air quality and energy efficiency throughout the home.
The CleanSpace system is a great selling feature of any home. This is one less thing that the buyers will have to worry about! Now they can enjoy a clean, healthy, usable crawl space and the CleanSpace liner is compatible with sump pumps and other products. Nancy is glad she called to improve the crawl space and can now look forward to selling the home!
Brad T. is just like every other home: He wants a contractor that he can trust. After calling Complete Basement Systems of CO for a past problem, Brad knew exactly who to call when he noticed water coming into his basement that might be caused by a foundation problem in his Greeley, CO home.
Brad met with foundation specialist Rick Donohoe who inspected the home and provided his recommendations for repair. The next day Jorge Cervantes and his crew arrived to installed Rick’s suggestions: helical piers and a SmartJack crawl space support system. The helical piers would were installed to help stabilize the foundation by transferring the weight of the home to the piers and to competent soil below. SmartJack support posts were installed to add support to the floor joists. Now Brad will no longer have to worry about a damaged foundation and water intrusion.
Brad is confident that he chose the right contractor for the job and the results prove that. Since the foundation products were installed, the homeowner has not had another foundation or water problem; and he couldn’t be happier!
This La Salle, CO home was built in the 1930s. The homeowners have lived there since building and started noticing the basement walls leaking and soon the basement flooded; that is when they called Complete Basement Systems for a professional opinion.
An interior perimiter drainage system, WaterGuard, was installed around the full perimeter of the basement to redirect ground water to a TripleSafe sump pump, as it was extremely important to the homeowner that the basement stay dry all the time even with power outages or large amounts of rain.
Now this family can keep enjoying their home for the many years to come and not have to worry about a wet basement!
Lee contacted Complete Basement Systems wanting an encapsulation system for her crawl space. After the September floods of 2013, she started noticing issues with the crawl space including moisture, humidity and all kinds of bugs and insects.
A CleanSpace liner and drainage matting were needed to solve these issues. CleanSpace is a 20mil thick reinforced vapor barrier with an anti-microbial lining. Once installed it is sealed to the foundation walls to control moisture, humidity and pesky insects. Lee no longer has to worry about wood rot or unhealthy air in her crawl space.
The homeowner for this Eaton, CO home emailed in an inquiry for their home. They described their probem as this... We have a house built in 1890. There was a porch, basement and stairs (to the basement) added to the house in the 1960's. The foundation wall in the stair well is flaking and cracking. There were also cracks appearing around the windows and the basement floor.
This customer has a heaving slab in the basement due to water underneath the concrete slab. The Edge Drain, a full perimeter drain system was recommended for the heaving slab to address the expansive soils due to water penetration.
The homeowner called Complete Basement Systems because she needed 10 feet of foundation fixed or replaced on the south end, street side of my house where there is no access. The wall of the old addition has separated and tilted away from the house. After the inspector did a free evaluation and estimate it was found that the customer has a foundation wall on an addition that is falling outward. Complete Basement Systems will need to remove the old wall, and to install a new CMU block wall.
The visual inspection of foundation and floor joist uncovered the sagging of joists. Support columns were lacking proper footers and some overspending of floor joists were also noted. There was horizontal cracking of the concrete block foundation at North and South walls. Some daylight could be seen at the North foundation wall and sill plate. Proper leveling and shimming of floor system is needed to eliminate these issues for the homeowner. The floor joists in the East addition at bathroom/laundry room were settling causing sloped floor that needed to be leveled and corrected as well.
Briggsdale, CO - Allison contacted Complete Basement Systems as she was in the process of buying this home in Briggsdale. Her concerns were of a crawl space and some structural settlement. The floors in the home were unlevel, sloping and bouncy. The support beam in the crawl space was weakened and not properly supported by monoposts. New steel support monoposts needed to be added to give enough support to the floor above. Once the floor was properly supported, a CleanSpace vapor barrier could be installed to enclose the crawl space and keep the moisture and humidity down to eliminte further deterioration of the wooded support posts.
This customer has a home that is taking water through the south east window well in the basement. There is some improper grading on the outside of the home in that same area that is contributing the to the issue. Water is rising up the foundation wall and entering through the window. It is recommended to install a sump system in the window well to ensure that there will not be a problem in the future. Just adding some soil around the home and creating some more slope does not ensure the problem is solved as a large rain would likely still flood the window. It was also recommended in to install a sump system in the basement of the home to aid in controling the heaving basement slab. This will not stop heaving, but it will help slow down that process. There are two foundation walls that are bowing inward. Complete Basement Systems needs to stabilize the foundation walls using power braces and helical tiebacks. Then need to install a SuperSump in a window well to keep it from flooding.
This customer is taking heavy water into the crawlspace and the water has caused the home to begin settling. Complete Basement Systems needs to install a full perimeter EZFlow drain system that will drain to two SuperSumps. CBS will also need to create a curtain drain out into the lawn that allows the water to flow away from the home. The curtain drain is where we will discharge the sump water. All the old debris needs to be removed from the crawl and drainage matting needs to be installed and a CleanSpace vapor barrier needs to be installed over top. Once the water and drainage issue is resolved the foundation issues can also be addressed. The home is settling around the entire foundation and is also settling around the interior. Due to the home settling around the interior support, the main beam in the home is the high point. The home needs to be piered around the entire structure and add four smart jacks with the bulb of influence to correct the problem.
This customer has a home and a garage that are both settling. Prior fixes have been done in the home, but due to the continued movement, those fixes have failed. Complete Basement Systems recommends installing push piers from inside the crawl to support the foundation and helical piers around the garage. In the crawl space six smart jacks should be installed to support the beams in the home. The monoposts that are currently there have settled twice and been fixed once. No adjustments can be made with them currently. Once we have attempted to lift the foundation, we need to use the smart jacks to attempt leveling the floor. A CleanSpace vapor barrier system was also recommended to encapsulate the crawl space.
Anne C. and her husband Kevin were concerned about water intrusion into their basement. Their concrete floors were constantly damp, and after any rain or snow, their basement walls were wet. Knowing that this problem would not automatically get better by itself, Anne made a call to Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems and set up a free estimate.
After sending out one of our certified Systems Design Specialists, we recommended that Anne and Kevin instal our TripleSafe sump pump system, as well as our WaterGuard Drainage System to take care of the water getting into their basement. The TripleSafe is the top of the line when it comes to sump pump systems. A primary pump will pump out 2,200 gallons of water an hour. The primary pump is coupled with a secondary pump, which will pump out an additional 3,900 gallons of water an hour. Talk about moving water! Finally, to protect the home from flooding during a power outage or sump failure, Anne and Kevin had an UltraSump backup battery system installed. Now, they can rest easy, knowing that their basement is clean and dry, and will be kept dry at all hours of the day and night!
Kirk and Kate D. from Severance, CO, noticed water intruding into their basement from multiple areas. They noticed water coming in from the window wells, as well as the floor wall joint all along the perimeter of their basement. Wanting to prevent further intrusion, and wanting to prevent the water from getting to their foundation, Kirk and Kate called Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems to set up an appointment.
One of our Design Specialists, Rick Donohoe, went out to the Severance, Colorado home, and recommended a few fixes for the leaky basement. First, the basement lacked a sump pit of any kind. We dug a brand new sump pit in the basement, and added our SuperSump sump pump system. To that, we also added the UltraSump battery pack system, to prevent against any kind of sump failure resulting from a tripped circuit or power outage at the home. Finally, we lined the entire basement with our patented WaterGuard drainage system, to collect any water coming into the house before it has a chance to make it to the foundation.
Now, Kirk and Kate are living worry-free, and water-free, enjoying their clean and dry basement, all thanks to Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems!
Rick of Platteville, CO wanted to get his exterior walk up and drive way sealed and lifted. He knew that when dealing with concrete, it was not a job he could properly do on his own. He contacted Rod Martin’s Complete Basement Systems to successfully repair his front entrance.
Our talented foreman, Jacob Bass and his team went out to complete the job in Platteville. They injected a poly product underneath the concrete to lift and raise the concrete slabs to be even with the other parts of the sidewalk and driveway. The team also used a sealant to close off gaps and cracks.
After Rod Martin’s Complete Basement Systems took on the job, Rick has been able to rest easy!
This homeowner had become concerned with the structural integrity of the home after noticing bouts of foundation heaving in the floor and basement walls of his home. After recieving a foundation repair mail piece from us, he decided to give a call to set up a free, no obligation inspection of his home. We sent out our design specialist Rick D. to complete the walkthrough, where he determined the cause of the heaving was from water trapped in the soils underneath the concrete of the basement. Reccomending an edge drain and sump system to capture and reroute the water, the project was set for installation!
Our foreman Israel T. went out to the home with his crew, installing a TripleSafe Sump Pump system, and an edge drain around the entire basement! Now the water around the home will be safley rerouted away from the home, making sure the soils around the home cause no more heaving damage!
